About the Artist

Susan Maracle-Eaglewing.

I am a proud Mohawk Woman of Spirit and know they are guiding me in all I do and will keep helping me to show others that Spirit is amongst all of us. As I work in my home studio. looking out to the lake, and the beauty that surrounds me. I give thanks to the Creator for my gift, and all that I have been guided to do.

I am a self taught artist but at times I have to admit that I wished I had furthered my experience by attending an art school. With this being said, I do what I can and hopefully others will see what I see with an open mind and heart and the love of Spirit. It goes without saying that my paintings have been the strongest force for me to want to continue working with a mixed medium that I use. With the singing of Joanne Shenandoah, I have her music playing rather loud from her CD called Matriarch, I start my work. The music in the background ,gives me such calmness within my soul to bring out the best of creating another painting. I first started with woodcarving did well, but it wasn’t long when I realized that I wanted to get back to drawing and painting, as I felt the need to do what I feel , knowing that Spirit is the guiding force behind all I am and do in my life. My path is very clear to me. How wonderful as I am truly blessed.

My own family, always there for me, giving their love and approvel means everything. Gives me that boost to carry on in what I do. I have many good and kind friends that have always encouraged me to further my abilities, for this alone I am truly grateful. I love them all.
